Most of the '83's were Markland. Can you take a pic and post it? There's 2-3 different brackets depending on which model you have.

I'm pretty sure they don't make mounts that will adapt that back rest to an '83-'85 MKI. Only time I've seen them is on a MKII..... Good luck in your search, and Cheers back atcha.....

this sold two hours after i listed it , like condor said these fit on 1986 to 1993 ventures i dont think it will fit on yours.
