Common suggestion:

- Power the lights directly from the battery with an inline fuse (or an aux fuse box through the battery).

- Use a relay to to trigger the lights (either from switch, high beam, or low beam - whatever your preference is)

Instructions can be found here:

yamaha instructions (NOTE: yamaha does NOT suggest the use of a relay): http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43898

Easiest bike of the 13 i have owned to remove the gas tank and run a wire direct to the battery with a relay under the front fairing to bypass the ign switch. May consider the passing mount spacer block offered by a fellow member on this sight before installing. :301:

Mike, mine was powered straight to a wire in the fairing that was only hot when the switch was on. use the largest wire you can find that has power on it......Ken
