Just curious about county road 257(I think). Leaves right at the entrance to little river canyon mouth park. has a sign that states "23 miles to Hwy 35. Not suitable for trailers, rv, semis," blah, blah, blah. What about motorcycles? looks blacktop and like it would be a blast by looking at the map.

From what I understand from talking to Hillrider at the M&E in Rome, that road was washed out and isn't fixed yet.

There was a loose gravel sign on it last night but nothing about closed. We were thinking to take the Jeep first to see how much loose gravel. 23 miles on Gravel on a touring bike doesn't sound like fun. Thanks for the info

If you go in from the west (lower river park) you can take the hill up to canyon river road. You want good tires and a good sense of balance because it is STEEP with switchbacks, and get most of the way to Hwy35 before hitting a detour sign that eventually brings you out a the gas station at the top of the hill. Great ride tho.

I don't see river canyon road. In the map below, we were at Canyon Mouth Park. (I was wrong on the road - it is 275 instead of 257. we talking about the same place?
