There has been a lot of discussion on which pin does what. This is the 13 pin c-bus breakout from the clarion DC625 service manual. Perhaps this will help.

I know less now then before you posted. But then I am electrically chalanged to start with.

I've called around to a few electronics parts shops and car audio installers but haven't found a female connector. Would be nice to put the iPod in the saddlebag where the cd-changer connector is but hooking up to left/right channels probably won't be enough for the controller to recognize that a device is there.

Did see a 13pin din to iPod cable on the Internet.... but think it was a male 13 pin connector. Have to look again.
