tbbrider Posted September 13, 2010 #1 Posted September 13, 2010 What kind of gas mileage are you getting on your trikes.Mine is an 07 Hannigan trike and I am getting around 30 miles per gallon, riding between 60 & 65 mph .My brother in law is getting his Rsv back from the trike shop Monday .The guy building the trike said I should be getting better mileage than that.Should I be getting mine checked/:95:
Carbon_One Posted September 13, 2010 #2 Posted September 13, 2010 I think that's about what I get towing the trailer. I do avg around 32-34 as a rule. The Hannigan also runs a lower gearing thus effecting it. 3:73 on the Hannigan opposed to 3:42 on the Tri-Wing which means at 70 you'll be running about another 250 rpm's. Larry
1 - UP Posted September 13, 2010 #3 Posted September 13, 2010 I get around 35 with mine. I try to stay off the Interstates. Ken

The extra weight, wind resistance and tire friction would drop your mileage enough to make a notice.. heck, on the highway, doing 65-70 I'm averaging 35-38 mpg.. A smoother acceleration and take off also makes a difference in mileage over a tank load.
Carbon_One Posted September 13, 2010 #5 Posted September 13, 2010 I should mention that my speedo is reading calibrated speeds now too so that alone will show lower mpgs. Larry
