Bridge Day, WVA

Has anyone ever gone to Bridge Day in West Virgina? People free fall from the New River Gorge Bridge. 800 and something feet high.

 

Oh I do not plan to jump myself, unless Ron pushes me off the bridge.

It says it is the biggest festival in West Virginia!

Where and when in WV? I'm planning on riding to Parkersburg next Sunday to deliver a trailer.......

Hold delivery back. New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, West Virginia on October 16, 2010 from 9am-3pm EDT. About 135 mi. from Parkersburg.

Yep, been there and watched that many times. Never have figured out why someone would jump off a perfectly good bridge...

Thanks for the photos SKID! I must of missed that one. I am off the 15th this year, so I was suggesting to Moped that it might be a fun trip to see.

But we will have to see how the weather is, I suppose.

That was one cold weekend. Dang, low 30's

Went over the bridge three times and under it once last month down there on a trip. I wished there was somewhere to stop on it to take pics from the bridge.

Yes, we rode over it too. It is a shame there is no place to stop. In fact, we did not realize what we missed until we rode over it.

Go the nice little park on the north end. Has a nice little wooden stairs that go down and down and down. But the climb back wore me out.

Thats why they have a bridge day...

 

But I know what your sayin, my guess is that it would be too dangerous with the limited room...

 

I may try to ride down next month. It's pretty bad when you live 2 hours away from something like that for 14 years and have never been to bridge Day.
