Yama Mama Posted September 11, 2010 #1 Posted September 11, 2010 Has anyone ever gone to Bridge Day in West Virgina? People free fall from the New River Gorge Bridge. 800 and something feet high. Oh I do not plan to jump myself, unless Ron pushes me off the bridge. It says it is the biggest festival in West Virginia! Dano Posted September 11, 2010 #2 Posted September 11, 2010 Where and when in WV? I'm planning on riding to Parkersburg next Sunday to deliver a trailer.......
Moped Posted September 11, 2010 #3 Posted September 11, 2010 Hold delivery back. New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, West Virginia on October 16, 2010 from 9am-3pm EDT. About 135 mi. from Parkersburg.
Dano Posted September 11, 2010 #4 Posted September 11, 2010 Can't, buyers coming up from Florida next week to visit kinfolk.
Skid Posted September 11, 2010 #5 Posted September 11, 2010 Yep, been there and watched that many times. Never have figured out why someone would jump off a perfectly good bridge... I did a Meet and Eat once on bridge day in 2006. Here are the pics..... http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/WV%20Bridge%20Day%20Meet%20and%20Eat%202006/
Yama Mama Posted September 12, 2010 Author #6 Posted September 12, 2010 Thanks for the photos SKID! I must of missed that one. I am off the 15th this year, so I was suggesting to Moped that it might be a fun trip to see. But we will have to see how the weather is, I suppose. Yama Mama:hurts:

Dang, low 30's
hunter 1500 Posted September 13, 2010 #9 Posted September 13, 2010 Went over the bridge three times and under it once last month down there on a trip. I wished there was somewhere to stop on it to take pics from the bridge.
Yama Mama Posted September 13, 2010 Author #10 Posted September 13, 2010 Yes, we rode over it too. It is a shame there is no place to stop. In fact, we did not realize what we missed until we rode over it. Yama Mama
Sleeperhawk Posted September 13, 2010 #11 Posted September 13, 2010 Go the nice little park on the north end. Has a nice little wooden stairs that go down and down and down. But the climb back wore me out.
CaptainJoe Posted September 13, 2010 #12 Posted September 13, 2010 "Went over the bridge three times and under it once last month down there on a trip. But I know what your sayin, my guess is that it would be too dangerous with the limited room... I may try to ride down next month. It's pretty bad when you live 2 hours away from something like that for 14 years and have never been to bridge Day. Hey if its too cold I could always:mytruck1:
