Gamecock Posted September 8, 2010 #1 Posted September 8, 2010 Browsing the Harley site this weekend, and dang, I might be in love! I loved my Venture, but have always loved a H-D Road Glide....now with the backseat and trunk, I may be sold. Oh yeah, the ABS helps too. Yammer Dan Posted September 8, 2010 #5 Posted September 8, 2010 NICE!! But its a HARDLEY!! I ain't going back......I ain't going back......I ain't going back..... That thing sure is Purty.....
Guest scarylarry Posted September 8, 2010 #6 Posted September 8, 2010 Might look at one when they come out but one poster said it is hardley, and that alone drives me away with the maint. cost that and I been on 3 long rides with a HD and they all 3 broke down different rides and one just left the shop.... 2 things on this is one from the picture looks like the bars are forward to much, wouldn't really know till I sat on one, the other is slash cut pipes, now that would have set it off.. I know alot of people are drooling over it though, one even wants to trade her hubby in as a slave for one...
1BigDog Posted September 8, 2010 #7 Posted September 8, 2010 Yea, I like it too. Especially the CVO version for 36k. Not a HD guy myself but I just like the looks of the Road Glide.

1BigDog Posted September 8, 2010 #9 Posted September 8, 2010 That works out to 2 ventures, right? Just about, but since my powerball ticket didnt come in ill stick with my trusty RSV:smile5:
Gamecock Posted September 8, 2010 Author #10 Posted September 8, 2010 When you are done talking your boss into it, would you please talk to mine for me? I know good and well my boss ain't going for it right now; still not recovered from the texting teenager taking me out in March....but when I get better, it will be a different story! That is one sexy bike!!! Ben
Gamecock Posted September 8, 2010 Author #11 Posted September 8, 2010 Yea, I like it too. Especially the CVO version for 36k. Not a HD guy myself but I just like the looks of the Road Glide. That extra 7 cubic inches ain't worth the $12K to me, I'll take the 103! But the CVO sure is nice! Been
Riderduke Posted September 8, 2010 #12 Posted September 8, 2010 yup that is the only harley that Catches my eye. Nice looking bike.
CaptainJoe Posted September 8, 2010 #13 Posted September 8, 2010 Looks an awful lot like a small Venture.... Just kidding... Whatever floats your boat my friend. The important thing is JUST RIDE!
tsigwing Posted September 8, 2010 #14 Posted September 8, 2010 Browsing the Harley site this weekend, and dang, I might be in love! I loved my Venture, but have always loved a H-D Road Glide....now with the backseat and trunk, I may be sold. Oh yeah, the ABS helps too. What do ya'll think of this bike? http://blog.encs.com/Portals/30908/images/11RoadGlideUltra.jpg I've been lusting after this bike as well. The price is a bit steep but I like it.
tsigwing Posted September 8, 2010 #15 Posted September 8, 2010 When you are done talking your boss into it, would you please talk to mine for me? My wife is the one egging my on to buy one and I am the one not wanting to purchase. Something there just ain't right...
Squidley Posted September 8, 2010 #16 Posted September 8, 2010 I agree with you Ben, the Road Glide is my favorite new style Harley. I love the front fairing, for most it's a Love/Hate with how it looks but I think it's sweet! Get what you want and enjoy it, thats why there are hundreds of different models and brands...choices are good
Motorcycle Mike Posted September 8, 2010 #17 Posted September 8, 2010 What do ya'll think of this bike? Yawn. Just another Harley. I see a hundred of them every day. Sorry, I guess I just dont see what others see.
saltcreep Posted September 8, 2010 #18 Posted September 8, 2010 To me it looks like something only a mother could love, reminds me of a pug or one of those small breeds with their nose chopped off.
ediddy Posted September 8, 2010 #19 Posted September 8, 2010 The road glide is probably the most under rated harley. It is a good looking bike and people I know that ride harleys say it is the most smooth ride. If I was thinking about getting one I would want to ride one with my wife on the back. Harley has that rear cylinder leaned out so much the heat could be a problem for the passenger but you could always have the fi re mapped to make the rear cylinder more rich.
ArcsSparks Posted September 8, 2010 #20 Posted September 8, 2010 Can't see owning a road glide when you make a turn and your headlight takes off in another direction (frame mounted fairings are not for me) plus same Harley problem 2 prices for one motorcycle. I don't know the HP rating of the RG but I bet my RSTD is as much or more
etcswjoe Posted September 8, 2010 #21 Posted September 8, 2010 Found a review at motorcycle.com http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/harley-davidson/2011-harleydavidson-road-glide-ultra-review-89829.html
Mover Posted September 8, 2010 #22 Posted September 8, 2010 I've always like the looks of the Road Glide and the upgrade to full touring looks great, except, those spoked wheels.
Oldslow Posted September 8, 2010 #23 Posted September 8, 2010 Was looking at the 2011 models at the Milwaukee museum. My wife wants me to have one but I don't know if it's in the budget! Like someone said...2 RSV's! Hard pill to swallow. Beautiful machine. I'd like to see a batwing fairing with a frame mount...
FreezyRider Posted September 8, 2010 #24 Posted September 8, 2010 My opinion.... 1. Overpriced 2. Underpowered 3. Pretty bike So, if #3 outweighs the other two, then ride it. For me, it is a no-go.
hunter 1500 Posted September 8, 2010 #25 Posted September 8, 2010 To me it looks like something only a mother could love, reminds me of a pug or one of those small breeds with their nose chopped off. I agree. They are great handling and it is hard to beat their quality but I think they are but ugly. JMO
