Some of those plastic cans will disolve about any thing. Good cleaner if you don't have any seals or things like that in the way. Sea-Foam cleans great and you can leave a rubber O-Ring in it for a week and it is same as when it went in. I agree Sea-Foam is getting overpriced. StarTron cost even more but is supposed to require less. A old one that works great is Marvel Mystery Oil to keep a system clean. And it is only About 4 bucks a quart.

Many many moons ago, I work for a tree surgey outfit trimming power lines I was the bucket operator, anyway the saws we use was a air saw long pole and skill saw blade on the end...it was self oil by small tank that took Marvel oil and never had a problem with the seals drying, but I wonder if it would clean the carbs.

Bought a little bottle at Walmarts last night over in the Marine section for about 8$ says it will treat 128 gallons, we'll see what happens with it

:confused24:

I bought a small bottle to didn't read on the amount, but I didn't see 128 gallons if that is the case then this is some strong stuff.....Let me check and see...

If memory serves me right (sometimes it doesn't) but I think it was caouple ounces for 16 gallons. I'd have to check when I get back home

If MY memory serves me correctly (same caveat as Squidely) you use something like a 1/2 Oz for 6 gallons and then less then that for each fill up after that. I've used an old Nyquil dosage cup when I did mine but you have to translate Oz. in to Tbsp.

After doing the conversion I think it was more like and Oz or an Oz and a half to 6 gallons then about half that for each fill after that. BTW a Tbsp is .5 Oz.

It calls for Inital dose of 1 oz for every 8 gal of gas and refills 1 oz for every16 Gal of gas. Thats not much. I won't get chance to try it out til I get back. Going south for about a week. The 8 oz bottle is supposed to treat 128 gal of gas.

Maybe I ought to treat the Tarus???

Ok bottle in hand 8 oz will treat 48 gallons initial dose 1 oz. for 3 gallons...refills 1 oz for 6 gallons...

Website shows different than the bottle does: Q: How much Star tron should I use in gasoline or diesel fuel?

A: With the Star tron Gasoline formula, add 1 fl. oz. for every 16 gallons of gas. In diesel application, add 1 fl. oz. of Star tron Diesel Additive for every 32 gallons of diesel fuel
