Mischevious Posted September 5, 2010 #1 Posted September 5, 2010 (edited) I have a tach that is for a 4,6 or 8 cylinder hookup. Where should I attach the lead wire (Grean for signal) from the tach? The rest of them are self explanatory its just the lead wire I am somewhat confused about. TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited September 5, 2010 by Mischevious CRS Disease
Mischevious Posted September 6, 2010 Author #2 Posted September 6, 2010 I scrapped the tach project. I am at a loss on hooking this thing up. I can only get it to read half the rpms and I am only seeing one coil on the right side under the tank. I looked at the tach adapter but it shows two coils. No idea where it is or how to do the rest of the hookups.
V7Goose Posted September 6, 2010 #3 Posted September 6, 2010 You either need a tach designed for a TWO cylinder engine, or you need to buy/make an adapter that allows you to bridge two coils together. The two rear coils are under the battery (you can see them below the swing arm), and the other front coil is below the frame backbone on the left side, near the one you already found. Goose
