Tenere and FZ8 available in May of 2011?

Huh?

Well we know what Yamaha is doing with its R&D money. Not updating the Venture.

I've seen the SuperTenere already at my Dealer. It's sure a nice Bike, but not enough Power(110 DIN-hp) for me ... Price i Ok, for that Bike. Since i don't ride in den Dirt, i sure would do something about the Spoke Wheels, but I'm not in the Market anyway.

With as much talk in all the forums of wanting an updated bike that can compete with the GoldWing it feels like Yamaha just said "screw you" to a lot of folks. Every Star in the lineup is new or (really) updated in the last few years except the Royals. Even the Road Star, that started in 1999 along with the RSV, got FI in 2008. But the Roadie people are pretty happy with it as is.

I think this year they just lost a LOT of touring customers to Honda. It's all supposition but I think they are just trying to assemble all the RSV's that they can from parts that they have on hand and drop it all together. They probably think it isn't worth it to try and compete with Honda.

And I see that they have the RSTD back now. I'm thinking that the reason they didn't make a 2010 was so they could use the workers and assembly lines to build the new Stryker and assemble all the other models. And now they are assembling the last of the RSTD's.

Again, that's just MY tin hat theory.

I dont see that in the 2011 line up. I see the Stratoliner Deluxe, but not the Royal Star.

I disagree on the part losing to GW, I see all of the makers taking a hit this year and GW will have bunch left over at the end of the year...

Dealers are not moving metal

Are they making the ventures with left over parts...Yes

Will they drop the model....Who knows

There is a place call wow motorcycles, I wonder where do they get bikes? Repo's if so they have a ton in transit right now, their prices are ok nothing to flip over

Yes, it is still listed in the "features". This is a cut and paste from the Star site.

Single-point audio control system for AM/FM radio, cassette, CD changer and intercom is MP3-compatible and headset-ready.

What's funny is that the Canadians have had the Blue Venture last year, now Yamaha is bringing the color down here to try and sell. Sorry I am not paying 20 when I can get an 08/09 GW new for that price.

Wow - 20 large for a Venture. That's in the same space as a BMW and Goldwing, and getting pretty close to Harley dressers; all of those bikes are more 'technically' advanced.

I hope Yamaha doesn't drop this line and DOES improve it. I can't really ever see me buying a V-twin after experiencing the vibration they put out. I LIKE the V-4 (ok, I'd REALLY like it with a V-Max motor).

That's ok - I just got my bike. I'd hate to have purchased it and then Yammie releases a Royal Star Max a week later.

Come on guys, it's farther down on the features page

Right, but they dont ADVERTISE it. If you have to dig around to find it, its not being 'advertised'...

I can't imagine why Yamaha wouldn't put that into the forefront... I mean after all, it goes right along with the "nostalgic" theme of the speedo....:rotf: :rotf:

I think I will be looking for a used Super Tenere when I wear out my DR.

Yessir, that Super Tenere looks like a mean machine. In 3 or 4 years, the used ones should be very reasonable priced.

This is part of the schedule taken from the Yamaha web site

September 16 - 19, 2010

Lawrenceville Yamaha

155 Park Access Drive

Lawrenceville, GA

Demo

I remember seeing several posts where members had "issues" with this dealer.

Perhaps they might use this opportunity to "discuss" the dealer as well as point the reps to this board so they can see how many people are planning on jumping ship.

At $20k for the new Venture, the new Victory cross country looks pretty appetizing to me at $17999. I hope my venture doesn't wear out too soon!

Yeah, the price bump in the Venture the last few years makes no sense, but that price on the Cross Country is with no trunk, no intercom, no CB, no cassette!!! Victory Vision with all the same amenities is $23,199.

I sold my 2007 Venture last month. Riding my 2008 Stratoliner S. I like the Stratoliner, but its not a true touring bike. What I don't understand is why did they spend all that money on the Vmax? They know they will only sell a few. A few upgrades to the Venture and it would be a great bike. And the Stratoliner Deluxe, what a have hearted attempt. No cruise control, small gas tank, no radio, no gauges in the dash, and no high mileage tires. At least this year they could have offered it in a color besides black, and put the S model chrome package on. Next spring will be time to trade. Right now I would say a Cross Country, or heaven forbid, a Electra Glide.
