Scooter Posted October 30, 2007 #1 Posted October 30, 2007 What's with the poll about the 1st Gen wobble? There is no selection for no wobble at all, which is the catagory that my bike fits into.
SilvrT Posted October 30, 2007 #2 Posted October 30, 2007 What's with the poll about the 1st Gen wobble? There is no selection for no wobble at all, which is the catagory that my bike fits into. Can't asnwer that Q but I never had any wobble or weaving or shaking issues on my '85 either. My '87 has a problem but it only seems now to be when riding single at higher speeds.... 160km/hr & up. Riding double is not problem. When riding single and I'm into the wobble, if going straight I just hold my knees out and it stabilizes it. Won't mess with the wobble in a turn so don't take it that fast. I suspect there's some geometry difference between 83-85 & 86 up as it appears most pre-86's don't have any wobble issues.
CrazyHorse Posted October 31, 2007 #3 Posted October 31, 2007 Yes I forgot to put in no wobble in the poll, its my fault but I dont know if I can change it anyone know?
SilvrT Posted October 31, 2007 #4 Posted October 31, 2007 Yes I forgot to put in no wobble in the poll, its my fault but I dont know if I can change it anyone know? without a "no wobble" choice, then all the ones that didn't choose anything are the one's without the wobble..... (hmmmm ... wonder how many there are?????)
Guest maddabber Posted October 31, 2007 #5 Posted October 31, 2007 I have never had a wooble on my 83 or 84 other than when I had a bad front tire. Once replaced it was fine.
eddy1156 Posted October 31, 2007 #6 Posted October 31, 2007 Just wondering if any 2nd generation owners are experiencing wobble. I'm riding a 2005 Venture and I'm getting wobble between 40-45 mph. Im hoping with a tire change it will go away.
Freebird Posted October 31, 2007 #7 Posted October 31, 2007 Not near as common but does happen. Most likely a new front tire will solve it but it is also very possible that your head bearings are just a bit loose.
Orrin Posted October 31, 2007 #8 Posted October 31, 2007 Yeah Don, the bearings in my head have been loose for quite some time.
