Hey guys, got a problem I hope y'all can help me with. I've got a set of J&M headsets in Nolen helmets. I am quite pleased with them so far, however today when riding I noted I was getting engine noise (static) through the headset. It wasn't "terrible" but was darn annoying. Anyway, while i was stopped I went to adjust the intercom volume. when I hooked my headset back up I immediately encounted an Unbelievable LOUD SHRIEK!!!! The volume of this was NOT affected by the volume control (at least that i could figure out. I disconnected/reconnect a couple times with NO luck in making it go away. I was running late for home so I disconnected and highballed back to the house. Anyway, does anybody have any ideas/suggestion concerning resolving these issues? I'd really appreciate it! THANKS!!!:fingers-crossed-emo

That's the sound, BUT it was warm and dry today, no water at all. I was working fine (except for engine noise) 'till I stopped and disconnected. When I hooked back up, there it was a REAL Pain! Can't imagine what would have happened if this had STARTED while I was riding.....

I had that problem early on (1-up), but then I started turning the intercom to zero when riding 1-up...something to do with balancing the output of the microphone.

When riding 2-up, the wife now waits until the bike is off before disconnecting her lower.

Since I made these "adjustments", haven;t had the issue since!

FWIW I just went out to the garage. Bike not running, switch ON, speaker setting on "H/S" and headsets NOT connected. I have a constant high pitch sound audible through the speakers (albeit very low volume since they're in the H/S position). I'm going out now and try hooking up both helmets at the same time and "see" if that helps. I'm REALLY stumped on this one! Thanks for the feedback, and if anybody's got any other ideas PLEASE let me know asap. THANKS and I'll get back on status with both hooked up!

Glad that worked for you!

But I can't take all the credit...I learned that from someone here...something about practicing karaoke riding 1-up!

mine does the same thing, I do not use the head sets at all when solo, but I get that at times when 2 up, and always get the engine noise...I have cleaned everything with contact cleaner and still the same thing.:confused24:
