allanj42 Posted August 27, 2010 #1 Posted August 27, 2010 Hello All, We purchased our 2008 Royal Star Venture 2 weeks ago and have enjoyed our first few rides very much. However, I'm considering modifying or replacing the driver's seat. I'd like to sit higher and further back as I am quite tall (6'8"). I'm not as concerned about seat height above ground, as I am about the distance from my bum to the floorboards. My knees currently form about a 90 degree angle. Also, I find the front part of the seat that goes up and over the tank is uncomfortable. I would appreciate any suggestions for how to modify, raise, or replace the driver's seat. My wife is fine with the passenger seat. Thanks, allanj42
Brake Pad Posted August 27, 2010 #2 Posted August 27, 2010 I'm 6'5", and i too have the same issues, my legs stop the bars sometimes, in tight turns. I bought a pair of highway pegs, and put the far out on the engine guards., this help me over come the cramped leg issues, without taking away from the bike
Rick Butler Posted August 27, 2010 #3 Posted August 27, 2010 Jeff, If you need to move back in the seat and get more height, you probably need to consider an aftermarket seat. Because you cannot modify your stock seat without alot of trouble, the first being you would need a new custom cover. I would probably start looking at a Russell Day Long or a Rick (and maybe Bill) Mayer both of which will get you up more. And by going up, this will allow you to move back (because of the limitation of the fender). Hope this helps, Rick
Woody Posted August 27, 2010 #4 Posted August 27, 2010 Jeff you said your bike is a 2008 did the previous owner have the seat modified?
