Has anyone ordered a seat cover from B and H Specialties (http://www.motorcycleseatcovers.com/index.htm). Their prices are good but just wondering if anyone has experience with them and if so are you happy with the replacement cover. The seat on my 85 venture has the stickies and I want to get it replaced. A local guy wants $400.00 to recover the seat and backrest. B and H Specialties would be about $176.00 for both. What are your thoughts?

The seat is getting sticky from the age. The vinyl is starting to break down. The seat has no rips or tears but it is sticky. Everything I have tried to clean it has failed.

would some kind of conditioner, wax, or polish work?

It sounds like a texture thing.

some folks here go with sheepskin , gel or or bead covers.

The nauga's hide is very sensitive to extended sun and the surface breaks down and turns into a gum type coating... it doesn't matter if the nauga was range raised or from a ranch... once exposed to enough sun it gets that way... here's a silly hint... try gas... soak a rag and lay it on the surface for a while and then another soaked rag will do a pretty reasonable job of wiping the "gum" off. Goo-Off and several other "removers" were tried but this method worked best for me... and a LOT cheaper!

:2cents:Had the same thing happen to my 83 all I did was take it off put it in the kitchen sink and washed it real good with mild dish degergent then put conditioner on it.
