Sideoftheroad Posted August 22, 2010 #1 Posted August 22, 2010 Neighbor is in the biz of selling different vehicles types includes bikes. From most of my talks with him alot of what he sells are bank repos. I can say he is (or was) handling a sell of a former colts player recently so not of it is repo's. He has a stock '04 Midnight w/ 17k and is asked if I thought 7k is a fair asking price. I haven't seen it and plan on it this week, but from what he says it is in good shape nothing major and any surface scratches can be buffed out. To me, I think it seems like a fair price. With this economy, not sure if it will move that quickly though. I just checked kbb and it shows retail $9210 & trade in $6440. Not sure what nada or black book lists it for.
BG Hawks Posted August 22, 2010 #2 Posted August 22, 2010 Sounds good to me. I got an 06 Venture for 1300 under KBB. Sometimes those deals come along that you can't pass up.
Hummingbird Posted August 22, 2010 #3 Posted August 22, 2010 there's a bank repo auction not far from me and nearly everything sells for about 2/3 of retail or lessor less I've bought several cars and trucks for resale and every one was in horrible mechanical shape, still made money, but something to think about. A bike with few miles on it can't be in too bad condition tho ---
Condor Posted August 22, 2010 #4 Posted August 22, 2010 In this economy he should be thinking about trade-in value if he want's to move it quickly. Now if gas goes up to $4.50/gal again ....... that's another story...
