I changed the oil in my bike 3 times this year and only have 2500 miles - but I've got several years on my compressor and haven't changed the oil yet.

I can't find an owners manual but the last time I talked to anybody about air compressor oil, I was told to use a non detergent oil because it didn't foam - is that still the way to go ??

btw it's a 220 volt 175 psI

Why did you change the oil in your bike so many times? I have 131,000 miles on mine and I only change it every 5000 miles. I only change the oil in my compressor (120 gal. with twin cylinder Quincy) every two years.

At the truckstop, I put 5W40 Mobil 1 synthetic in our compressors and changed it every 3 months. Compressors ran quieter and cooler.

Ours was similar to this one, but older.

I was trying to get rid of that pesky wine - turned out my hearing aid was magnifying the sound.

I use Amsoil 10W40 synthetic in mine and have ran it for 20 years now without any problems at all. I change it about every 2 years.
