Yammer Dan Posted August 17, 2010 #1 Posted August 17, 2010 Started home Sun morning and "Brown Sugar" showed me why she let a couple of those other bikes get close. Started lagging when I let off gas and soon just wouldn't go. Rear/Front brake locked up. Opened rear bleeder and got no fluid. Opened front bleeder and got no fluid. Master cylinder? Brake released while we were there and I rode it home with only front brake. If it released it seems to me calipers are ruled out?? Can you imagine what that thing would do if the Brakes weren't holding it back???
mini-muffin Posted August 17, 2010 #2 Posted August 17, 2010 Muffin said probably the rear master cylinder. He'll give you a call tomorrow to help you go through it. Margaret

Aussie Annie Posted August 17, 2010 #6 Posted August 17, 2010 Yeah, but I come with my own protection units (elbow crutches)
Yammer Dan Posted August 17, 2010 Author #7 Posted August 17, 2010 Yeah, but I come with my own protection units (elbow crutches) You ain't seen my cane yet....
Aussie Annie Posted August 17, 2010 #8 Posted August 17, 2010 Okey Dokey then... protection units vs cane at say, 10 paces? :rotf::rotf:
Squeeze Posted August 17, 2010 #9 Posted August 17, 2010 Sounds like Lever Adjustment, sticking Return Spring and/or sticking Lever. The Lever seems just not let the Relief Hole in the Master open. There's only minimal Pressure building up and no Fluid will come out of the Bleeders.
Marcarl Posted August 17, 2010 #10 Posted August 17, 2010 If you haven't taken the whole system apart to clean and refurbish it,, then now is the time and add the stainless lines as well, it would be long overdue!!!!
gibvel Posted August 17, 2010 #11 Posted August 17, 2010 Okey Dokey then... protection units vs cane at say, 10 paces? :rotf::rotf: Oh boy, a couple of old gimps duking it out!!
Yammer Dan Posted August 17, 2010 Author #12 Posted August 17, 2010 Pull rear master and clean. Figured good place to start. I use front brake a lot but that rear one is nice to have when putting 2nd gens in their place. Getting too far ahead just plain embarasses them. You got to hold it back a little. GREAT week with a few good runs from "Brown Sugar". They know if my tailight works!!
Yammer Dan Posted August 17, 2010 Author #13 Posted August 17, 2010 Oh boy, a couple of old gimps duking it out!!  OLD GIMPS?? We may not be able to run him down Annie but between us we can catch him....
