Mischevious Posted August 14, 2010 #1 Posted August 14, 2010 We just bought this one last week. Traded in our 1999 Suzuki VL1500 on it. This is also the seat I want to replace as I think the back rest part is to steep for me as I am a big man. But anyway here it is. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j256/Shinufu/100_0713.jpghttp://www.venturerider.org/forum/http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j256/Shinufu/100_0713.jpg
Mischevious Posted August 14, 2010 Author #3 Posted August 14, 2010 Thanks. We really have enjoyed it so far. Some day the rain will stop and we can get out more for longer rides.
Hummingbird Posted August 14, 2010 #6 Posted August 14, 2010 NICE - you're going to ENJOY you Venture !!
Squidley Posted August 14, 2010 #7 Posted August 14, 2010 Jim, Congrats on the scoot, I have has 3 '99's and I have loved everyone of them. The stock seat setup is more than likely what your looking for. There are 3 styles of stock seats, '99 & '00 were a bit stiffer, '01 to present were pillow tops and many folks like them a lot (me being 1 of them) and on the midnights from '02 to '06 were the stiffer model with chrome studs on them. You can pretty regularly pick up the early seats cheap and have Rick Butler (member here in Texas) perform his mod on them in creating a tailbone relief and adding some memory foam. The Pillow tops will cost you some bucks as most guys with the older models want to install the pillow tops on them so that drives up the price. Welcome to the club and we hope you enjoy it here
Mischevious Posted August 14, 2010 Author #8 Posted August 14, 2010 Once I get the seat changed out I think Ill enjoy it a whole lot more. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
RandyR Posted August 14, 2010 #9 Posted August 14, 2010 You might find someone who will swap seats with you. Maybe even throw in a few $$$ as it looks like you have a custom job of some kind. Welcome to the forum. I picked up my 2000 used in Iowa this spring.
eusa1 Posted August 14, 2010 #10 Posted August 14, 2010 the seat you have there is a saddleman road sofa, did it come with a drivers removable backrest?
Mischevious Posted August 14, 2010 Author #11 Posted August 14, 2010 Thanks for the replies folks. Its an awsome forum. Ill keep my eyes open for any stock that will fit as long as it doesnt have studs. The wife doesnt like them LOL.

flb_78 Posted August 14, 2010 #13 Posted August 14, 2010 Paint scheme isn't right for a 99. Looks like a cross between the 2 Ventures available in 99.

Mischevious Posted August 14, 2010 Author #21 Posted August 14, 2010 So what year of bike seats fit the 99? Im looking for the plain stock leather seat with no studs and that isnt as straight up and down as a cliff face LOL. I would be willing to trade even up if someone has one they would like to part with.
Freebird Posted August 14, 2010 #22 Posted August 14, 2010 Any seat from '99 - current models will fit.
Mischevious Posted August 14, 2010 Author #23 Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) Awsome. So a wide range to choose from. Thank you for the information. So you all is from somewhere around eastern Iowa? We live right on the mississippi. Edited August 14, 2010 by Mischevious
RandyR Posted August 14, 2010 #24 Posted August 14, 2010 I suggest attending one of the Meet & Eats in your area, and looking at and trying out some of the other styles of seats.
