1999 Just Bought.

We just bought this one last week. Traded in our 1999 Suzuki VL1500 on it. This is also the seat I want to replace as I think the back rest part is to steep for me as I am a big man. But anyway here it is.

Congrats on the scoot, I have has 3 '99's and I have loved everyone of them. The stock seat setup is more than likely what your looking for. There are 3 styles of stock seats, '99 & '00 were a bit stiffer, '01 to present were pillow tops and many folks like them a lot (me being 1 of them) and on the midnights from '02 to '06 were the stiffer model with chrome studs on them.

 

You can pretty regularly pick up the early seats cheap and have Rick Butler (member here in Texas) perform his mod on them in creating a tailbone relief and adding some memory foam. The Pillow tops will cost you some bucks as most guys with the older models want to install the pillow tops on them so that drives up the price.

You might find someone who will swap seats with you. Maybe even throw in a few $$$ as it looks like you have a custom job of some kind.

You obviously are right Ruffy, the two tone silver which sometimes looks

likes green in the right light is usually is known as the faster RSV and of course out sold the burgundy and silver 99.

So what year of bike seats fit the 99? Im looking for the plain stock leather seat with no studs and that isnt as straight up and down as a cliff face LOL. I would be willing to trade even up if someone has one they would like to part with.

I suggest attending one of the Meet & Eats in your area, and looking at and trying out some of the other styles of seats.
