Dragonslayer Posted August 11, 2010 #2 Posted August 11, 2010 Every decent sports car has bucket seats...now bikes do too! That is just wrong on so many levels
massey130 Posted August 11, 2010 #3 Posted August 11, 2010 I was taken aback for a second till i saw the lid on that bucket with the baby photo shopped through it. the baby's arm looked a bit suspicious also.
MasterGuns Posted August 11, 2010 #4 Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) This is seen quite frequently in SE Asia. Nothing new here! 7, 8, or more on a small bike. When that is your only mode of transportion, you do what you must (add more air to the tires). Edited August 11, 2010 by MasterGuns
Trader Posted August 11, 2010 Author #5 Posted August 11, 2010 I was taken aback for a second till i saw the lid on that bucket with the baby photo shopped through it. the baby's arm looked a bit suspicious also. I don't know...the baby's hand on the girl's thigh looks like it belongs. And the shadow under the baby's Right arm(left side of bucket) looks real to me! But then again...the more I look at it....the girl's arm holding the bucket doesn't look like the hand would be in the right position does it...unless maybe she has an "overhand" grip on it. You might be right.....I am a gullible sort...
Evan Posted August 11, 2010 #6 Posted August 11, 2010 Like MasterGun says, it's not unusual for a whole family to load onto small bikes or scooters in some parts of the world. My wife brought me some pictures from India that also amazed me. It could be?
a1bummer Posted August 11, 2010 #7 Posted August 11, 2010 The shading, contrast, and brightness don't appear to match very well between the baby in the bucket and the passengers on the bike. The passengers towards the front have some sun on their heads and then everything else is shaded. Look at the skin color on the baby on the back of the woman which is shaded. Then look at the baby in the bucket, it also would be shaded the same as the first baby. But there is quite a difference in the colors. Then look at the way the baby is in the bucket. the weight wouldn't be evenly distributed. The top of the bucket would be leaning towards the camera. But the rest of the people on that scoot I can definitely believe. I remember when I was little, me and my brother and sister would always ride with my Dad on his old Honda. I remember sitting on the gas tank and holding onto the handlebars. But now days in America, you can get in really hot water for just about anything. When I was down in Mo. for my sister's wedding this spring, my now Brother-in-law had the cops called on him when he too his 4 or 5 year old son for a ride in the dirt bike. He pulled a couple wheelies and stuff. The kid was grinning from ear to ear. The guy races bikes, so I'm pretty sure he knew what he was doing. My sister on the other hand, is a whole different story.
Drreb Posted August 11, 2010 #8 Posted August 11, 2010 Holy moly can we say this bike is a tad overloaded...

Yama Mama Posted August 12, 2010 #12 Posted August 12, 2010 I think the kid in the bucket seat did have a seat belt on though. Yama Mama:smile5:
KiteSquid Posted August 12, 2010 #13 Posted August 12, 2010 Here are a few more phots of overloaded motorycles http://www.afrifail.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/usafiri-550x412.jpg http://www.bestofpps.com/wp-content/uploads/who-needs-a-truck.jpg http://www.baanliam.com/toppicks/images/overloaded_motorcycle.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TRcQCuP2b5A/Se6lY_buJuI/AAAAAAAAF5Y/OXe1kK7TG9g/s400/safety+5+guys.jpg
retc403 Posted August 12, 2010 #14 Posted August 12, 2010 This past March while eating at Wendy's here in Leavenworth, an older guy with a Santa beard rode in on this bicycle. He was just passing through enroute to OK from northern IA. He said OK to photo the bike but declined to be in the pics. A you can see, we'd had about 5" snow the day before but the temp had climbed to about 45.
