Dumb Question

Can you take off the 'Dog Bone' motor mounts without having to prop up the engine??? Basically I need to know if they're functional or cosmetic like the fins... Maybe one side at a time will be OK??

You can take both off for servicing the bike but they should be left on when running/riding the bike as they do add support to the engine. No need to prop the engine while they're off either cause the motor won't fall off. LOL .

Agreed. I actually knew a guy who didn't like the way they looked so he took them off an rode without them. That was several years ago and I don't remember who it was but last I heard, he had not had any problems. I would NEVER do it though.
