Sleeperhawk Posted August 7, 2010 #1 Posted August 7, 2010 Ponch sent me a chrome oil fittings to replace the ugly brass fittings. Thanks Ponch, looks good to me.
slick97spirit Posted August 7, 2010 #4 Posted August 7, 2010 hey ponch, you have a bunch of those on hand? What would it cost a fellow to get you to send me one? Ken
Ponch Posted August 9, 2010 #5 Posted August 9, 2010 $80.00 for the set including postage. Please allow 30 days delivery. I'm at the chrome shop's mercy plus they screwed up George's parts the first time around and I had to buy new parts and machine a new base. They paid for the parts, but not my labor. Wondering about the price? Here's a breakdown for you. $10.00 parts, $40.00 chrome, $5.00 postage, $25.00 to drill/tap the base fitting and gas/driving to chrome shop & back (2 trips - 90 miles total). I wish I could do it cheaper. .... Ponch
Condor Posted August 9, 2010 #6 Posted August 9, 2010 I wish I could do it cheaper. .... Ponch Ponch... do they make those fittings in Stainless??? And is that a new oil line???
Ponch Posted August 9, 2010 #7 Posted August 9, 2010 The 90 degree fitting might be available in SS, but the base piece is a 20 X 1.50 mm oil drain plug that has to be drilled and tapped. don't think it's available in SS.
Sylvester Posted August 9, 2010 #9 Posted August 9, 2010 I'm good with the brass. Nobody has noticed so far anyway.
Guest scarylarry Posted August 10, 2010 #10 Posted August 10, 2010 Think I'll just spray paint my Silver!

Eck Posted August 12, 2010 #13 Posted August 12, 2010 Hey George, I just finished cleaning mine (now that I have my garage back), and I found lots of shiny chrome I didn't know I had..(or forgot it was chrome from all the dirt). You might want to start thinking about upping the anny on your accessory insurance coverage with all that chrome. (I am buying stock in bike cleaning supplies).
Ponch Posted October 4, 2010 #14 Posted October 4, 2010 Alternative: Swagelok part # SS-200-2-2. Stainless Steel. It's not shiney, but a little time on a buffer and it could be. Prettier than brass (unless you like brass). It retails for about $12.00. If you want me to get it send $15.00. http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv87/dawarren77377/Gauges/DSC00022.jpg?t=1286205007 http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv87/dawarren77377/Gauges/DSC00023.jpg?t=1286205007
Yammer Dan Posted October 4, 2010 #15 Posted October 4, 2010 Another advantage of the 1st Gen. It passes you so fast all you see is a flash and think That thing must have a bunch of chrome on it to shine like that!!!!!:rotfl:
