Exhaust question

I traded some BUBS for a set of Tour Deluxe factory mufflers. The TD dpipes arrive today and the opening to the pipes is 1/4 inch bigger than the BUBS, in fact the the BUB muffler opening will slide into the TD muffler opening , aren't they supposed to be exactly the same? I tightened down most of the set screws but I am uncomfortable going much tighter. The exhaust is leaking at the end of the header. What I am i doing wrong?

Do you have the gaskets installed? The stock mufflers use gaskets where they slip on. Some of the aftermarket ones do not. I'm not sure about the Bubs.

Didn't someone make a reducer/adapter for those things??? Used when Harley Road Kings were installed...

No gaskets and the BUBS didn't use them. Trip to Yamaha tomorrow.

Yep...that's your problem. I went through the same thing when I went from a set of Khromewerks to a stock set of Tour Deluxe mufflers.
