Flyinfool Posted August 6, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2010 I was just wondering if I am the the only RC Heli nut on this site. IRCHA is the International Radio Controlled Helicopter Association. This is a HUGE event held in Muncie Indiana at the AMA grounds, 5161 E. Memorial Dr., Muncie, IN, 47302. It is the Biggest radio controlled event in the world. Last year there was over 900 pilots (more expected this year) and vendor row was almost a half mile long. The things that some of these guys (and gals) can make a heli do are simply amazing, you would swear that they are breaking at least a few laws of physics. I will be there from Aug 11 - 15, You can find me in the SWARM tent. It might make for an interesting day trip if you are in the area. Hope to meet someone from VR there. Scooter Bob Posted August 6, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2010 I will be there from Aug 11 - 15, You can find me in the SWARM tent. I see how we rate.... can't spend more than a few hours with your VR buddies at a MD, but you'll spend a whole week with your RC friends. Jeff Sounds like a lot of fun. Have a great time, Scooter Bob
Iowawegian Posted August 6, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2010 Just wanted to say thanks for the website. I have forwarded it on to my son who just got back from Osh Kosh and he also fly remote control heli's. Thanks for the info!
Flyinfool Posted August 6, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted August 6, 2010 I see how we rate.... can't spend more than a few hours with your VR buddies at a MD, but you'll spend a whole week with your RC friends. Jeff Sounds like a lot of fun. Have a great time, Scooter Bob You betcha I have thousands of RC friends there to BS with. That does take some time. I am also the prez of the heli club that puts on one killer party on Friday night featuring my world famous RumBalls. This party is not recommended to anyone that has to drive any farther than a few feet to their tent/RV. There will be a major fireworks display with helies flying at night thru the fireworks, on Saturday night, you have to see it to believe it. Every day there is heli flying from ~6am till ~3am. That's not a typo. I'll sleep when I get home Sunday night. Besides I do not know if the VR group is really ready for me yet. I am kind of quiet till I get some rum in me. Maybe next year if I can get a trailer built (or beg, borrow or steal one) by MD I'll head down to OH. Then you'll be sorry.
