When I bought my 2nd gen I rememeber having the warranty transferred but can not find that information now. Is there a web site or number where can find out when my warranty expires? :confused07:

Your local Yamaha dealer can look it up for you as well as any previous warranty issues. If they say they cant, they're lying to you. Mine did it for me.

Most likely your dealer will be able to access the warranty status through the factory. Rest assured, they will verify the status to be certain they get their reiimbursement. My new 06 RSV warranty was 5yrs, unlimited mileage (SO FAR NO NEEDS) and subsequent year modles have the same. Your dealer will know, IF IT DID GET TRANSFERED.

All the information is tied to the vin #. When I went in for warranty work at a new dealership I simply brought my sales papers with the numbers on it for the service writer. Everything was smooth sailing from there. Replaced the stator (2010) and the rear shock (2008) under warranty.

Just getting my rear shock replaced under warranty (Wow - it was almost $600.00 just for the part) - they just looked up my vin number - good to go for another 5 months.

That's my problem also and the local dealer said he is so busy he can't even talk to me about making an appointment for 3 weeks. Before driving 1 - 2 hours somewhere else, I wanted to find out how much, if any, warranty was remaining.

No number or website I can check myself????

 Not good

Simply call YAMAHA customer service. IN Canada, that is what I did to transfer my warranty from the prior owner.

My 2005 just ran out of warranty. So IF IT a shock issue, get into the dealer and get it noted and service documented to start a warranty claim.
