In and out on 88 handlebars

Can you move the handlebars in and out on a 88 VR like you can on a 85, ref Squidleys reply on the matter. And thanks to everybody on the battery sensor fix, I got the stuff and did the job in about 45 min., Gel batt was from Advance Auto (89$), not an Odyssey, used a 1K Ohm resistor.

Yes you can.

 

You have to remove the cruise light pod. Underneath that it is just like an 85.
