Guest Boomerbiker Posted August 3, 2010 #1 Posted August 3, 2010 There were three motorcycle fatalities in Branch County/Coldwater on Sunday. A man and wife, both aged 45, were killed when an 18 year old girl allegedly distracted by a cell phone pulled in front of them a few miles north of our home. A husband and wife riding a trike struck a deer and the husband was thrown from the vehicle and killed with his wife suffering significant injuries. There was a third accident also involving a deer/motorcyclist on Sunday with the rider surviving. Southern lower Michigan has an overabundance of deer to say the least. There are few days, if any, without and accident report involving a deer/motorized vehicle collision. For those of us who ride, the presence of deer and their unpredictable movements at any time of day or night is always on our mind. Bill
wes0778 Posted August 3, 2010 #3 Posted August 3, 2010 How many lives have Cell Phones cost?? Involuntary manslaughter charges pending, I hope!!!
Renne Posted August 3, 2010 #4 Posted August 3, 2010 We've had 5 fatalities locally within this last year. Two were distracted cell/text drivers ( rear ended!), one a deer, one a left turn in front of a rider and one lost control to avoid a collision. I see more and more cagers "isolated from the world" failing to "drive" in favor of social networking .
