Condor Posted August 2, 2010 #1 Posted August 2, 2010 The K&N filter that came with the '91 when I first bought it had a very soggy oil soaked foam seal. The filter cleaned up well, but the seal was toast so I put the it on the shelf. While talking to Rocket I mentioned the bad seal and he told me that K&N would warantee it. Their filters do have a lifetime warantee. So I sent them an Email offering to buy one since I wasn't the original purchaser. They replied and sent me a new seal free of charge. They even picked up the shipping. They now have a lifetime customer...
PBJ Posted August 2, 2010 #2 Posted August 2, 2010 Very cool just goes to show K&N knows how to take care of their customers
MasterGuns Posted August 2, 2010 #3 Posted August 2, 2010 This 86 of mine had the same problem when I first got it. Once I figured out it had too much oil in the motor and lowered that down to about 3.8 quarts, I just removed the old seal from the bottom of the K&N and replaced it with with a section of that stick on window seal. Been that way for about a year now. Works like a charm.
