Well the higher powers at BP are cutting costs now. A whole bunch of good folks got laid off....most of them were in the wildlife recovery category.

No effort is being spared by BP to reclaim the oil from the Gulf....and make money from that.

Boomer....who's more than a little disgusted about the situation.:(

Figured they were really scrambling to get back anything they could. Course that won't make the news. Just the losses before recovery. Good to see you back.

I believe that they wanted to good, but the cost was great. plus all the jobs were mostly for press purposes due to all the bad press and to minimize the impact to share holders. Now that this is on the back side and they have breathing room, time to cut back.

also, as pointed out, it is not being covered by the press near so closely.

I don't think what i wrote was exactly what i meant, but ya'll got the point.

sheesh, maybe i should brew another pot o' coffee!

I hate to hear them cutting back, but as far as the recovery, I hope they make a bundle from it so they don't go bankrupt and leave us taxpayers paying for the clean up!

If it makes you feel better...my supervisor was telling us he went to an oil spill class bout five years ago. The one thing they figured out was nature does a better job of cleaning up oil that we as humans do. They took an area cleaned by hand and left another area alone and in time the area left alone was in better shape than the area that was cleaned. Hazmat and D.E.Q. has a better understanding on all this....odd though you never see them on the evening news, just some pour shrimp boat captain and how much money he's lossing and the,"where's my check" crowd.

Chief, thanks for your work....maybe we crossed paths 15-20 years ago.

Just saying I have not heard one work on BP recovering anything in the way of dollars they will get back and they seem to want to keep this a secret. Then I guess we will feel sorry for them.

The recovered oil is being trucked to the BP facility in Houma...even the oil they wash from the oil booms/skimmers is being re-claimed.

Boomer.....who knows darn well BP is making $$$$ despite the recovery costs.

Ummmm what exactly are they suppposed to do with it? Toss it back in the sea? Throw it on the ground? Put it back in the wells?

Of course they reclaim it?

Recovering oil will be peanuts compared to the money they recover when they claim the cleanup costs as a business expense, and write it off their taxes.

Aside from Bubber, the rest of the folks, well maybe not all of them are prudy nice folks to hang out with....

Hey Bro I'd love to roll up there for that Event. I'm going to touch bases with some of the folks here in Loozeeanner and East Texas and see what is shaking with them....If I can ride up with a few of them I'll do the ride for sure. The scoot will need a new pair of sneakers and brake pads but that's no biggie for sure.

If I do make it I'll be bringing a tent and camping for sure so save a patch of grass for me and a few pygmies...:D

Boomer....who could handle Minniesoda without the snow....and getting Bubber sloshed to the gills could be a hoot too.:cool10:
