Yammer Dan Posted August 2, 2010 #1 Posted August 2, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-VENTURE-1300-ENGINE-/200503448601?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eaeefd419 Maybe this one will work haven't been having any luck with this thing lately. Maybe its a 1st Gen.
skydoc_17 Posted August 2, 2010 #2 Posted August 2, 2010 Hey Dan, That motor looks like a 2nd Gen. Motor to me! Something smells a little fishy to me! Earl
Marcarl Posted August 2, 2010 #3 Posted August 2, 2010 Nah, it don't look like no second gen to me, but it's a way to shiny for Dan,,, but it looks nice!
BOO Posted August 2, 2010 #5 Posted August 2, 2010 Second gennny.... To shiney for a first gen.:rotfl::rotfl: BOO
dingy Posted August 2, 2010 #6 Posted August 2, 2010 I emailed him asking for serial #. It is for sure a 2nd gen, you can see dogbone mounts and fake air cooling fin mounts. Looking at some of his non positive feed back, he seems less than pleasant to deal with. Gary
buddy Posted August 2, 2010 #7 Posted August 2, 2010 Yep Second Gen. for sure and everyone seen it and read it Dan said it was pretty!! Maybe he is seeing the light:cool17: after all:rasberry: Oh I sent a email as well but I popped his balloon on his add as for being misleading but it was nice I promise.......
Yammer Dan Posted August 2, 2010 Author #9 Posted August 2, 2010 What i ment was maybe my computer was a 1st gen the way it was acting. I knew the motor wasn't right. And 500 miles??
DBOB Posted August 2, 2010 #10 Posted August 2, 2010 Hey Dan; All them youngsters are just jealous of the Classic 1st Gens! Don
Yammer Dan Posted August 2, 2010 Author #11 Posted August 2, 2010 Hey Dan; All them youngsters are just jealous of the Classic 1st Gens! Don Can't blame them...
massey130 Posted August 2, 2010 #12 Posted August 2, 2010 I wouldn't mind have a 1 gen to go with my 2 nd gen. I have enough stuff to take care of that i really don't want another motorcycle at this time. I have to wonder about that add, though. seller state motor new, but then states 500 street miles. adds that it is 20 yrs old. I see a lot of misleading on this one. if a person could get a better price and pick up, them maybe ok, but I agree that is a 2nd gen motor and they came out when, in 99 ???
RedRider Posted August 2, 2010 #13 Posted August 2, 2010 It could have been just a typo - meant to be 1999. However, how would they have this motor with just 500 miles that was 11 years old? Odd. Definately a 2nd gen. No fluid leaking out anywhere. RR
painterman67 Posted August 2, 2010 #14 Posted August 2, 2010 2nd genI think . Look at the side of the each cylinder. I thought something looked weird so I went outside and compared to my 91. It took a bit but I finally noticed the bolt holes in the pic. Isnt that for the side covers? My 91 doesnt have those bolt holes. David
massey130 Posted August 2, 2010 #15 Posted August 2, 2010 It is for sure a 2nd gen, you can see dogbone mounts and fake air cooling fin mounts. correct bout the mounting holes missing from the first gen.
