Beartooth Highway

Rode the Beartooth yesterday with wife on back and two Terriers in my modified Unigo trailer. What a great ride, was so much fun I rode it again in the opposite direction today. Being from the east I thought the Blue ridge and Deals gap were neat but you just have to ride the Beartooth. The bike ran a little rich above 9000 feet but there was never any power issue. When I rode it today i left wife and the mutts back at the RV and used some of the extra rubber on the sides of my tires. Unlike Deals gap, one can ride as foolishly as one wishes, remembering that your first error will likely be your last. It's a great ride and suggest that anyone who hasn't done it but it on there Bucket list

Its real high on my list and hope to ride it soon, maybe next year, if we can get the international Rally in Cody Wy. next year.

We rode it with slit on the road back in 92 on our way to V-Daze in Kailspel. It's a ride you want forget!

Lots of rides like this, all over the West Coast ( Left Coast, if you like )

 

Wa. Oregon, Calif, Idaho, Nev. Montana, Colorado, NM, AZ, --- Take your pick, com'on out west folks, enjoy the ridessssss, lots of them.

 

I live 15 miles SE of Seattle, and have about 3 of the " Dragons " within 10 miles of the house !!

 

Also, in Oregon, the " coastal range " and the " Cascade Range " Any of the routes that run E and W over these two Mt. ranges is a " heck of a ride " ( as they would say in Minn. and Wis ) Same thing in Northern Calif.

 

If you prefer the " supper slab " try I-90 E and W across Idaho, yes its a freeway, but its another, " heck of a ride " ( sorry I grew up in Minn. )

The Beartooth Highway (US212) is open for the 2010 season. The Beartooth Pass area of the Highway may close periodically when it snows and blows too much.

We rode it as part of the Cody Roundup last year but had to contend with road construction. I hope that was all completed before your rides this year.

 

It is a fantastic ride. I look forward to riding it again at the 2011 Cody Roundup II
