Yammer Dan Posted July 23, 2010 #1 Posted July 23, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170517128098&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Just browsing E-Bay again. I was going to order from Earl soon but what ya think of this one. You can answer too Earl, I know I will get a good honest answer and you know a little more than I about these things. Another one is All State Batteries here in my back yard claimes they have a Glass- Mat now for around a hundred bucks and I know a guy that gets a discount there. "Ugly's" battery a wally-world special has never acted as it should. I know cables would do wonders for her. Brown sugar has a Allstate that is very strong. How old is it Skid? I think couple of yrs.
tpalshadow Posted July 23, 2010 #3 Posted July 23, 2010 Just go to ebay.com and search for 170517128098
mm482 Posted July 23, 2010 #4 Posted July 23, 2010 Dan, I read somewhere that a second gen starter will work on a first gen and they work as will as the VMax starter. I have seen several of they go cheap. Earl:fingers-crossed-emo
Snaggletooth Posted July 23, 2010 #5 Posted July 23, 2010 I got nuttin but a home page when I hit the link so I don't know what you were looking at. I got to throw in my 2 cents again on the DEKA AGM. I've had mine for going on two years now and it still is going as strong as the the day I got it. It shows 12.8 or 12.9 every time I hit the key no matter the weather or how long it sat. I admit, I've got all the goodies in line to go along with it, the upgrade stator, better cables, new R/R and converted all the running lights to LED's to reduce the load on the system. But any battery will perform better with all the components working properly. I got mine from Josh over at Bohannons but Earl is handing the same thing. Better CCA's than the Oddesy. Fits the bike like stock to. Just watch the sellers. I've seen a lot of dealers claiming batteries to be AGM that in fact, were not. Gel and AGM are most certainly much different. Mike
Condor Posted July 23, 2010 #6 Posted July 23, 2010 I got mine from Josh over at Bohannons. Better CCA's than the Oddesy. Mike Is Josh still offering the Board Members $80 bucks to your door deal on the EX18L?? http://www.bohannonbattery.com/html/deka.html
Yammer Dan Posted July 23, 2010 Author #8 Posted July 23, 2010 Buy an Interstate, about the same price... Thats what I ment instead of Allstate!! I had found a ad for a Glass Mat with 330 cold cranking Amps for 50 some bucks. Lostr the blasted thing!! Sounded good anyway!!
Skid Posted July 23, 2010 #9 Posted July 23, 2010 I have Interstate in everything I own. The battery in Brown Sugar is probably about three years old or more. The trick is to run the bike on a regular basis. I normally get 4 or 5 years on an Interstate...
mm482 Posted July 23, 2010 #10 Posted July 23, 2010 15 Hrs. to go http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-ROYAL-STAR-VENTURE-1300-STARTER-MOTOR-/170514606973?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27b3766b7d Earl
LilBeaver Posted July 23, 2010 #11 Posted July 23, 2010 Holy man. MSRP 345, partshark for 243. Not that I want to start storing a bunch of spare parts, but if I could actually get it for 30 after S&H, that would be worthwhile! I'll keep an eye on this, if no one else here needs it, I might go for it. Good find Dan!
