Need info on 1st gen rear brakes

I have a 1983 Venture that I am trying to rebuild and the rear brake caliper was missing. The question is will any other year or model brake caliper work or do I have to find a 1983 model caliper?

83-93 are considered 1st generation VR. The brakes calipers are found easily on Ebay. A rear set sold yesterday for 17 bucks incl shipping from Hessdeals. the front PAIR went for the same price. Also a Pin wall cycle salvages alot of ventures on ebay.Good luck!

Hopefully somebody else here can verify but from my parts cross reference list, it appears that any caliper from '83-'85 would work.

The 2 piston rear caliper fits ALL MKI VR's. The years are 1983 to 1985. A Right or Left Front Caliper will not fit the rear. The right front will bolt up but the piston size is incorrect. I am pretty sure I have one here, if you are interested, feel free to PM me.
