Unless the seller knows the history of the motor, and can verify that the 2ndGear problem has been taken care of, he's really sticking his neck out. OR he's just guaranteeing 2nd not to be DOA. I think $199 for a 1200 motor is too much without the repair. 1300's go for around $350 to $450, and because of the shipping costs the sellers don't get much action nationally, and generally have to deal with a local pick up market. I just bought a '91 1300 w/50,000 motor off Ebay for $150 plus about $75 bucks in fuel to pick it up.... and I was the only bidder....
