Can't beat that with an ugly stick, even a stick uglier than Kregerdoodle. You definitely have got your monies worth fixing that one up

:thumbsup2:

don't seem likely.

Great trailer, BTW.

Also...what about painting those wheels? Maybe blue, or black, or maybe some nice "baby moon" type wheel covers will dress it up!

Should paint the top half of the wheels blue, and the bottom half black to match the rest of the rig.

Seriously, nice job.:thumbsup2: I've been looking for a good frame at a great price to start with as well, just haven't found one yet.

So what is the total finished cost of the trailer????

It looks COOL!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job!!!!!!!

Right off the top of my head, I have about 320 bucks in it. I'll list what I've done

trailer 35

plywood 15

lights (led)80

wiring harnes etc. 20

paint 20

wheels 70

bearings 30

fenders 20

misc. pinstriping..10

tax and license 18

I couldve bought the complete harbor freight trailer for about that much, but it isnt like this one, Plus shipping to my door was over 100 bucks more. It was a fun project, here are the final pics.

If you are like me, not knowing the trailer as far as tires and bearings. You will probly replace tires and wheel bearings. You may consider a new harbor freight flatbed. If you have a welder etc. you can size it however you want. A new set of tires and bearings will be 100 bucks. Fenders another 20 or so. Spend another 30 to 50 and you could have a new trailer. Of course leds vs. the harbor freight lights will get spendy. Also it helps if you have the carrier/box to mount on it. Whichever way you go, get started, its alot of fun to do. I had a neighbor come over and look at mine, he said he was skeptical at first. But he was really impressed how nice they turn out. He's gonna start his sometime this winter I think. Good Luck on yours.

bj that really looks good. I think you did a perfect job on it. How does it feel when you are riding with it attached. We have never had a trailer and Ron seems to want to keep it that way.

I've only rode about 10 miles or so at a time to try it out, and make modifications. But so far i really like it. Im going to weigh the trailer today etc. so i know exactly what im doing. I noticed i dont ride quite as aggressive, not sure if it is the trailer or the uncertainty of having it back there. But that is a good thing. Stopping doesnt seem to be an issue, but havent tried a sudden stop yet either. I am hoping everything works out and I can go to Sturgis. Liiking forward to taking trailer.

Hey Beege...it looks good...just the right size I'd say...have you weighed it empty? Im guessing 120 pounds? Did you remove any leafs from the axle? Or maybe its torsion...cant tell from the pics.

I just weighed it today TX, and you are close. It weighs 130 pounds. empty toungue weight is 19.5 pounds. I loaded the trailer down with tent, air matress, sleeping bag, helmet, lawn chair, and one of my riding jackets. I added my 40 qt cooler on the front and the toungue weight is up to 23 pounds. total weight loaded is about 185-190. I went to Wally World and bought a 5 dollar fish scale so i can weigh the toungue etc. every time i load it up. I think im at about 12 percent toungue weight as it sits now. Should be pretty good.
