looking for another Venture

my RSMV was totaled a couple weeks ago, now I'm looking for another one. What would be a better deal, an 06 with 20,000 miles, or a 99, at half the price, with 18,000 miles? Are there any major differences between years?

No major differences at all. The only thing you might want to check on the '99 is that the trunk bottom is not cracked. Yamaha came out with a kit to prevent them from cracking but many folks never knew about it. There should be a rubber spacer at the bottom rear of the trunk and large washers on the inside under the rubber mat. The only other problem with the '99 models were the antennas. They were crap and Yamaha changed them in 2000 with a folding type.

 

Otherwise, they are exactly the same other than the colors and maybe the seats.

Depending on exactly when the 06 was bought, should have a little bit or a couple years of factory warranty left. Might want to check into that.
