Flyinfool Posted July 17, 2010 #27 Posted July 17, 2010 Piece of cake! Did someone mention CAKE? I like cake........
Bubber Posted July 17, 2010 #28 Posted July 17, 2010 Did someone mention CAKE? I like cake........ It is a figure of speech. (idiomatic) A job, task or other activity that is easy or simple to do. Sure, no problem. It'll be a piece of cake. THERE REALLY IS NO CAKE, Mr Flyinfool. Sorry about that! :crying:
Flyinfool Posted July 17, 2010 #29 Posted July 17, 2010 OH Sure, go ahead, burst my bubble before I even get there.
eagleeye Posted July 18, 2010 Author #30 Posted July 18, 2010 Guys, There's room for a few tents in my yard, but my house has lots of room. I'd say first come first serve on the bedroom, but inside somewhere is fine with me too. SO, who needs work done, and what? Steve
Bubber Posted July 19, 2010 #31 Posted July 19, 2010 Guys, There's room for a few tents in my yard, but my house has lots of room. I'd say first come first serve on the bedroom, but inside somewhere is fine with me too. SO, who needs work done, and what? Steve That would be great. I ain't overly fancy on the sleeping arrangements. Install windshield vent Check the carbs for sync. Help others Thats my list Oh ya drink beer, act smart, and tell lies. That should cover it! How does that work for you? Bubber
Scooter Bob Posted July 19, 2010 #32 Posted July 19, 2010 Oh ya drink beer, act smart, and tell lies. Bubber Should fit right in, Bubber! Later, Scooter Bob
j_berg Posted July 19, 2010 #33 Posted July 19, 2010 I;m going to try and make would like to learn some stuff.. and punch some holes in the gas tank. wont be spending the night tho
Flyinfool Posted July 19, 2010 #34 Posted July 19, 2010 I plan to help with stuff so that I can learn more stuff and get into more trouble. The only things that I need done are to grease the pins in the rear wheel and possibly new brake pads for the left front and/or rear. Will there be a snap ring pliers there to get to the pins in the rear end? If there is anything other than the dead deer sausage that anyone would like me to bring just let me know.
eagleeye Posted July 19, 2010 Author #35 Posted July 19, 2010 I've got snap-ring pliers and MD grease for anyone needing the rear splines and pins greased. My friend/neighbor who has the motorcycle tire changer / balancer also has a lift that we can use Steve
RedRider Posted July 19, 2010 #36 Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) I also need to start making a list to bring. Service Manual Brake cylinder retractor Snap ring pliers (never hurts to have a backup - they break at the most inconvenient times). Lift and Larry adapter 27mm wrench and socket (FlyinFool - what size is the rear wheel nut on a 1st Gen?) 1/2" torque wrench 3/8" torque wrench sockets ball end allen wrenches Moly60 grease fine sandpaper Mother's Chrome Polish (for cleaning up pipes while off the bike getting rear wheel worked on) Metric wrenches (long and stubby) Blue locktite Brake Quiet Mechanics pics (in case anybody wants to do clutch work). Gasket scraper (clutch work) Steering head bearing wrenchs I will fill this out further as items are identified/asked for. Let's hear it - what do folks want/need to do? RR Edited July 22, 2010 by RedRider
Flyinfool Posted July 19, 2010 #37 Posted July 19, 2010 Good question, I do not remember the axle nut size, I will have to check, I know that I have a socket to fit it. Maybe while the wheel is off for greasing will be a good time to look at putting on my hitch. I need to fab up some brackets but I do not know where they are suppoed to go yet so this will just be scoping it out and getting ideas. I have a puller to remove the flywheel if anyone will be playing with the starter clutch and/or stator. Since you did not mention it I'll bring my 1/4 drive torque wrench for the clutch bolts. With my "normal" load of crap that I carry I do not have a lot of extra room for maybe needed stuff. I'm gettin antsy already, my poor bike needs some highway time.
Bubber Posted July 20, 2010 #38 Posted July 20, 2010 A Little Bump to keep track of it! :missingtooth:

Flyinfool Posted July 22, 2010 #45 Posted July 22, 2010 So who all is heading out that way from the Milwaukee area. Maybe we can meet up for the ride out there. I am still not decided if I will prefer to just blast out I94 to get there early, or try taking some back roads and get there late. I must warn you that I am a fair weather rider.
Flyinfool Posted July 22, 2010 #46 Posted July 22, 2010 I just looked at the 10 day horrorcast for WIMD, Madison weather. They are calling for sunny and 0% chance of rain with a high of 80. Not to shabby. Now if we could just believe them. Meteorologists seem to have a hard time telling us what happened yesterday, let alone 10 days from now.
