t_hole Posted July 14, 2010 #1 Posted July 14, 2010 Wife backed into my bike the other day and now I'm looking for a new front fender for my '09 RSTD. Local body shop wants $1100 to fix so thinking I can surely find a used one in good shape. Checked the usual suspects (Pinwall, ebay) and gonna start calling junkyards next. Any other places I should be looking?
Bubber Posted July 14, 2010 #2 Posted July 14, 2010 What color are you looking for? I have a complete set of tins and I may have a spare fender to. I will need to confirm when I get home after 5pm. You could come up and take a look since you only in Ioway. LOL Bubber
t_hole Posted July 14, 2010 Author #3 Posted July 14, 2010 Thanks Bubber. My bike is Candy Red in color.
Bubber Posted July 14, 2010 #4 Posted July 14, 2010 I know for sure mine are black and are for a Venture. Fenders should be the same at RSTD.
Bubber Posted July 15, 2010 #5 Posted July 15, 2010 Well it looks like my brain don't remember so good. The tins I have are for an 1100. The bikes I had prior to the Venture. Sorry for the goof up on my part. :crying:
starkruzen Posted July 15, 2010 #6 Posted July 15, 2010 You might want to try and do a global search on craigslist
Steve S Posted July 15, 2010 #7 Posted July 15, 2010 I'm curious, what does a new one cost?? :mo money:
philmartin Posted July 15, 2010 #8 Posted July 15, 2010 You can buy a new one from Sports Plaza for $418.28 painted. http://www.ysppart.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/2/Yamaha.aspx
jarrejx Posted July 15, 2010 #9 Posted July 15, 2010 ...earlier this year I bought some items at an auction, including several RSV fenders. I used one for my single wheel trailer and the other is still somewhere in the garage. It looks like a fender from an '08 RSV (charcoal & gray), so you would have to paint it. It has several scratches, so you would have to paint it regardless. It did not come with the chrome fender tips, however. I have some pix somewhere which I can post if you are interested. Jerry
