Grindo Posted July 13, 2010 #1 Posted July 13, 2010 I just installed floorboard extensions on my roadstar and now the rear brake line is too short. Any thoughts on where to find one made to order. I checked with the local shops so I'll have to order it.

GaryZ Posted July 13, 2010 #5 Posted July 13, 2010 I found a small company in Oklahoma City that makes brake lines to-order. Small, one man operation. Good guy, too. http://www.oklahomaspecialityhose.com/ I gave him the length needed and selected the end-type. They were done the same day.

GigaWhiskey Posted July 13, 2010 #7 Posted July 13, 2010 As long as you know the length of hose, the size for the banjo bolt and fitting along with the angle, you can do this yourself. http://www.z1enterprises.com/catalog.aspx?pid=VMX1200-1985-WB1 Forget buckeye.
GaryZ Posted July 13, 2010 #8 Posted July 13, 2010 How resonable was he???? How much oversize did you go? These hoses are shorter than the originals. Remember; the originals ran from the left caliper to a fitting above the steering head, and the other hose ran from the right caliper all the way to the front brake handle. I connected one of the old hoses to the brake caliper, routed it to the splitter and marked it with a piece of tape. I then took it off, measured it and added a couple of inches (to be safe). They ended up a little too long. Two hoses were about $88 with local tax included.

My friend was a hydraulics troop in the Air Force and he said the same thing. I plan on letting him assemble the hose from the Front master cylinder to the splitter.
dingy Posted July 13, 2010 #10 Posted July 13, 2010 I got mine from an ebay seller located in Canada. He has a listing up now, he will do a 4 line set for about $85.00 including shipping. You have to know what you want in the way of lengths and end fittings. No one line over 71". He also has single, double & triple sets on sale. Ebay seller is linespro 4 line set listing # is 270597840446 I was happy with the quality of the set I got from him. Gary

KeithR Posted July 13, 2010 #12 Posted July 13, 2010 Here is another EBay seller for SS Lines item 190377068299 prices look reasonable....Canadaian company as well Keith
Grindo Posted July 14, 2010 Author #13 Posted July 14, 2010 Thanks for the info. I know nothing about choosing the fittings and so forth so I'll probably defer to an expert on assembly. Not an area that I want any surprises with.
