bmorcom Posted July 11, 2010 #1 Posted July 11, 2010 Is there anyone near Lancaster or Harrisburg PA that would be willing to help me with my first carb sync?
GeorgeS Posted July 11, 2010 #2 Posted July 11, 2010 If so: pull up the maint manual, its on line this web site. Go to the maintenance section. Scroll down the left side of home page.
jlh3rd Posted July 11, 2010 #3 Posted July 11, 2010 yep.....come on by.......i don't go to work until wed....
bmorcom Posted July 12, 2010 Author #4 Posted July 12, 2010 Thank you for the offer. I sent you a message. I could make Tuesday work if it works for you.
bmorcom Posted July 13, 2010 Author #5 Posted July 13, 2010 Just had jlh3rd assist me with syncing the carbs. I thought that was all I needed when I arrived. John helped me set the proper idle on the bike, found a cracked hose and plug and synced my carbs. Needless to say, it was like riding a different bike on the way home. So smooth and better pick-up and best of all no more back fires as I slow down. This experience alone will make me a paid member, not just a trial member. If the site has a lot of people like John, it will not only give me a lot of knowledge, but also meet some really great people. Thank you for your help John.
skydoc_17 Posted July 13, 2010 #6 Posted July 13, 2010 Hey Brett, John is gook folks, If you would like to take a little longer ride, well you would be welcome to stop by the Duncansville, Pa. (16635) area for lunch and a nice ride. It would be my pleasure to show you around the area, we could eat here and ride out for Ice Cream. If this sounds interesting, please feel free to PM me. Earl
bmorcom Posted July 20, 2010 Author #7 Posted July 20, 2010 Well about 1000 miles into the trip and I have been getting between 36 and 39 mpg. The biggest change I see after shimming the carbs and syncing the carbs is the response and how smooth the ride feels now.
bmorcom Posted July 21, 2010 Author #9 Posted July 21, 2010 Since I have never been to one, that would be great. I have to say upfront that I am a huge Cardinals fan, so we may have to stay 20 feet away from each other.
halfwitt Posted July 21, 2010 #10 Posted July 21, 2010 Then my daughter and you would get along great!
halfwitt Posted July 21, 2010 #11 Posted July 21, 2010 How does somewhere around September 4 sound? We just need to come up with a decent restaurant and people will come. It wouldn't hurt if there were a DQ nearby. Any thoughts?
tpalshadow Posted July 21, 2010 #12 Posted July 21, 2010 Hey Chicago whadya say, "Cubs are going to win today" Next year is near! Fixed that for ya!
halfwitt Posted July 21, 2010 #13 Posted July 21, 2010 Wait 'til next year (for the 101st consecutive year)
halfwitt Posted July 21, 2010 #14 Posted July 21, 2010 Hey Mason City! My cousin lives in Storm Lake.
ddoggma Posted July 21, 2010 #15 Posted July 21, 2010 My new Dunlop E3s came today. So, I will be ready for the second half of the summer in a couple days. I am looking forward to finally seeing some of you folks if we have a PA M&E. One of the first things I want to do with the new tires. Is head over to the little shop by the creek for a visit. Long rides at speed on the old tires didnt sound like a good idea. Now I can rock and roll, again....
bmorcom Posted July 21, 2010 Author #16 Posted July 21, 2010 Are you thinking around York or Gettysburg for a location?
skydoc_17 Posted July 22, 2010 #18 Posted July 22, 2010 It's A Shame We Don't Live In Rhode Island, We would all be 25 minutes from a M&E! Rich it would be great to have you stop by, Just give me a shout when you think you might be over this way. A PA meet and eat is definitely in order, I missed the Gettysburg M&E this year because of my back surgery but I am up for a good ride, some good food and to share some road with my fellow Pennsylvanians! Let me know when and where and I'll be there. Earl and Jean
halfwitt Posted July 22, 2010 #19 Posted July 22, 2010 I'll go start a new thread and see what interest we can drum up. Sept 4 is Labor Day weekend. Would that be good or bad? See me on the post that's about to show up!
bmorcom Posted July 27, 2010 Author #20 Posted July 27, 2010 You took 2 of 3 from us....bad weekend for us Cardinal fans.
halfwitt Posted July 27, 2010 #21 Posted July 27, 2010 Yeah but now we play Houston. We can't beat the bad teams. If we could've played Pittsburgh better we might be in contention!
