royalstarjac Posted October 24, 2007 #1 Posted October 24, 2007 Reading the headlight modulator discussion has got me to thinkin. A lot of wrecks happen as a result of improper use of the rear brake. Highsides and such, so I'm thinking about removing my rear brake. That way it can't lock up causing me to go sidways and then high side when I stupidly release the brake during the slide. Well what do yall think? Yeah I know, I'm a smarta$$.:rotf::rotf:

I have no documents or statistics to support this but sounds like to me it would prevent sliding. :rotfl::rotf:
mbrood Posted October 24, 2007 #4 Posted October 24, 2007 Why do we have to keep forgetting history and it's valuable lessons... Those OLD flat track riders saved weight and got better gas milage by eliminating BOTH brakes. And if pedestrians know you have this "option", they will be much better about not stepping out in front of you. It WOULD make intersections and downhill runs more interesting.
Squeeze Posted October 24, 2007 #5 Posted October 24, 2007 ... Those OLD flat track riders saved weight and got better gas milage by eliminating BOTH brakes. .... not to mention the tremendous Svings out of not worn Pads .... :whistling::whistling:
StarRider07 Posted October 24, 2007 #6 Posted October 24, 2007 not to mention the tremendous Svings out of not worn Pads .... :whistling::whistling: And cleaner rims.
royalstarjac Posted October 24, 2007 Author #7 Posted October 24, 2007 And then my headlight modulator would become the universal signal for "I removed my rear brake" and people would stay out of my way!
CrazyHorse Posted October 25, 2007 #8 Posted October 25, 2007 I would go full throttle everywhere you'll get there faster. I would also shave my tires till they are bald makes them lighter so you'll go faster better traction cause the whole tire is touching not just those lousy areas between grooves.
Stoutman Posted October 25, 2007 #9 Posted October 25, 2007 Better yet, replace your right floor board with a stirrup. Then you won't be able to move that foot except to take it out and plant it on the ground.
Orrin Posted October 25, 2007 #10 Posted October 25, 2007 Jack, you scare the sh** out of me. For a moment I was going to take you advice.
