bongobobny Posted July 6, 2010 #1 Posted July 6, 2010 We are loking for people to ride with. We are leaving Arcade Saturday morning and heading for Erie Pa via 86. We will be taking I71 to Columbus and then I70. We plan on stopping somewhere around Columbus for the nite. Anybody want to hook up along the way or start from here??
Marcarl Posted July 6, 2010 #2 Posted July 6, 2010 We're planning on leaving Sat in the am as well,,,, about 9 or 10, leisurely riding our way to Zombra, cross into a foreign country, shirt around Detroit, duck under Flint, and then meander over to Indiana. Should take some time so we'll have to sleep overnight somewhere,,,,, maybe they have over or under passes in that country,,,,, oh heck, we're on holidays, we'll find a motel somewhere, yep, and then we plan to arrive sometime Monday, just in time for the promised Potatoes at the creek!!!!!!!!
99silver Posted July 6, 2010 #3 Posted July 6, 2010 Carl, It's an easy days ride from here and you are about 3+ hours from here on the super slab and you are leaving on Sat and arriving on Monday, you must really sleep a lot. OK I almost forgot Sunday is the day of rest. Let me know of your route we may be able to lodge you if you have the proper papers, I wouldn't want to upset any of the Czar's. I plan to leave Sunday and take the back roads. Gary

Gary We are avoiding the slab like the plague, running just south of Flint, appreciate the offer, but there are 4 of us, and maybe we'll get there somewhat early and have to spend time in the pool so we smell nice and pretty for everybody. I'll have to see how it times out with all of us,,,,,,, and are you sure Leslie is ok with this????????
99silver Posted July 7, 2010 #5 Posted July 7, 2010 Carl, We have limited beds but floor space and camping would be an option, or we could meet and do supper, breakfast or whatever. Leslie is not going to Potato Creek because she is just started a new semester at school, but I'm camping the 11, 12, 13 & 14th.
99silver Posted July 7, 2010 #6 Posted July 7, 2010 OOP'S UPDATE, My Bad !!!!!!! Leslie just reminded me that we are going to a wedding Saturday evening. I can't seem to keep up with the social calender, I guess that's what I keep her around for.
Carbon_One Posted July 7, 2010 #7 Posted July 7, 2010 I'll be traveling US - 12 Sunday. The old Detroit-Chicago road which back in the day was somewhat like Route 66. No slab riding. That route is scenic with small towns dotted along the way. Approximate distance is about 200 miles from my place. A very leisurely ride of about 4-5 hrs. at average speeds of 50-55 mph depending on stops. Carl's route should be nice too as that would be mostly, if not all countryside riding, especially if skirting the bigger towns. Anyhow if anyone wants to join up with us their more than welcome. Larry
