BigBoyinMS Posted July 6, 2010 #1 Posted July 6, 2010 I decided to sync my carbs today since I have noticed a little roughness and it's been about a year since my last sync. As I was hooking up I remembered a post from last year where someone asked a question about syncing at cruising rpm or a higher rpm than idle speed. (I haven't been able to find the thread.) Anyway I decided to sync at 2300 rpm, just because it felt about right. I've got to say, it seems smoother than it was the last time. Does anyone else do it this way or what do you think?
wes0778 Posted July 6, 2010 #2 Posted July 6, 2010 Since I don't have a tach, I just guessed at "Super Slab RPM", on the RSV, and did the sync. Now it is off at idle, but is smoother at road speed, than when I did the sync at idle. I need to try this procedure on the Tour Classic. Kbran and Squidley got it absolutely perfect at idle, at MD. Now there is a definite vibration at highway speed.
buddy Posted July 6, 2010 #3 Posted July 6, 2010 Do it at idle and you will be all right. Look in the Tech section of Second Gen. and you will see a good write up how-to-do on it...... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=258
BigBoyinMS Posted July 6, 2010 Author #4 Posted July 6, 2010 (edited) That's pretty much what I did. I twisted the throttle till it felt about right and 2300 was it so I used that for each adjustment. Let me know and I'll bring my tach and bottles to work and you can come by and pick'em up and use'em. Edited July 6, 2010 by BigBoyinMS
