Finding back rest

Is difficult to find venture driver back rests for the 1986-1993 models? It looks like a very well designed unit and it may play a role in which used bike I buy if it will be a pain to come up with something that would work as well.

Keep an eye on eBay for sure. They pop up every now and then. The thing to watch for is to make sure it comes with all the parts needed to mount it. Some are missing the brackets or pivot parts. Then you start playing the mix and match game.

You can still order a drivers backrest from Utopia. They are excellent. A little scary to install because they have the center post so you have to cut a slot in your seat but they come with instructions..

Below is a link to a thread where I detailed using a backrest from an H-D Road Glide on a 1st gen.

 

It is very comfortable, and it is easily removable. It has made riding much more enjoyable.

I found an aftermarket (Markland, I think) backrest designed for a 1200 Gold Wing. It fit a little snug, but works well.
