tufftom4 Posted July 3, 2010 #1 Posted July 3, 2010 I have a 1993 GMC 1500 that I am restoring my ? is I replaced the ac compressor and dryer with all new o-rings and it works great but I get a drip of water running on the passenger side floor any idea what is causing this?
Monty Posted July 3, 2010 #2 Posted July 3, 2010 The rubber drain hose coming from the evaporator, either has a hole in it, or is not connected properly. It's supposed to go thru the firewall, and drain underneath.
Flyinfool Posted July 3, 2010 #3 Posted July 3, 2010 Or the drain is plugged, I once had a spider use that tube to call home.
flb_78 Posted July 3, 2010 #4 Posted July 3, 2010 Yep, most likely the hose is clogged up. Check out the cowl on the passenger side and there should be a drain hanging down. Shoot some air up it and that usually fixes the problem for a year or two.
buddy Posted July 3, 2010 #5 Posted July 3, 2010 I agree sounds like the drain tube is plugged up you can pull the tube off the fire wall and most likely this will let it drain out, like stated it is plugged up with anything from a spider Webb - mouse bedding - June bugs - just about anything will plug this drain tube. easy to clean just pull the tube clean it out and stick back on. If you have no drain tube attached to the fire wall use a air hose to clear the tube by sticking the air hose against the tube and blow it out slowly or use a coat hanger and make a small hook out of it and clean it this way as well I done a few in the past........
