Condor Posted July 28, 2010 #29 Posted July 28, 2010 This is starting to not be funny any more,,, This is the third week and nothing yet... one excuse after another Should have left it ugly at least I could be out riddin, and now I am waiting for parts on the Honda too, and it has been raining, and the mower tractor is broke, and the goats ran off, so I will have to mow,,,,, McGintie's Law is in effect.....
kj5ix Posted July 28, 2010 Author #30 Posted July 28, 2010 I stopped by Again, and to my surprise it was ( all of the little pieces too ) in the paint booth, and having a bath of Pearl X ( this part is a secrete until it is done ) There is a good chance that I can get it tomorrow,,,,,,,,, Now if I can just remember where all of the nuts/bolts/screws/ and electronics are in the shop,,,,, not to mention if I do find them where do they go.
Trader Posted July 29, 2010 #32 Posted July 29, 2010 Looking forward to seeing the final product. Nice teaser by the way! I've thought of triking...but I just love to lean into the twisties too much!
kj5ix Posted July 30, 2010 Author #33 Posted July 30, 2010 Well I got the bulk of the plastic parts back today, and it is time to see if I can put this puzzle back together,,, I got about 80% of the inner faring put back together so far, and when I get the rest of the parts tomorrow I can spend the week end having a ball, and scratching my head on just were things go/could go/should go/might go. I guess the X part of the color isn't a secret any more,, It is Yeller fer sure........ Lamborghini Deep Pearl Yellow. Kinda grows on ya... http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/parts.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/innerfaring.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/body.jpg
jonesy Posted July 30, 2010 #34 Posted July 30, 2010 I felt the same way, painted my trike orange, said what have I done, but as I assembled it , it looked good orange and black and chrome, yellow was my other choice, one thing is it will stand out and be noticed, have you thought about doing the lower engine fins in yeller too. great job love the paint.
Mariner Fan Posted July 30, 2010 #35 Posted July 30, 2010 That's going to look really good Tripod! Can't wait to see it put together!
kj5ix Posted August 1, 2010 Author #36 Posted August 1, 2010 A few more of todays activities,,, Boy this thing takes a long time to put back together. What a Jig Saw Puzzle,, but I am getting there. http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/faring.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/faring1.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/faring2-1.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/fender.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/faringtank.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/horn.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/trunk.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/trunk1.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/frontlowers.jpg
jonesy Posted August 1, 2010 #37 Posted August 1, 2010 can't wait to see finished product, your's is yellow w/black seats, mine is orange w/black interior, so mine was easier to reassemble, but I think yours will be sharper looking for sure. One thing you'll have to put up with is the people who will ask to take pictures of it, have to beep horn at you to give you thumbs up no matter how fast you both are going, old, young, all ages will be impressed with it. very nice for sure
short-haul Posted August 1, 2010 #38 Posted August 1, 2010 See school bus yellow looks good on everything Good looking job so far looks like a goldwing color:thumbsup2:
kj5ix Posted August 2, 2010 Author #39 Posted August 2, 2010 Things are starting to take shape again ( about time ) It has taken longer to rebuild it, than it took to make it a Trike in the first place,,,, Still a lot to do, but getting there. Put the Passing lights together, and installed with the spacer, and that is a dream to put the front of the faring on.. Got the body sit back on to get it out of the way. Mama said Big Bird..... now she wants me to stop goofing off and get er done..... http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/Takingshape.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/Takeingshape1.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/takingshape2.jpg
kj5ix Posted August 3, 2010 Author #40 Posted August 3, 2010 It is really starting to look lie a Trike again Got the body aligned, and secured, and the tour pac back on. Sure wished I didn't have to work during the day... But it is too hot really to do much riding now 105 temps, and 109.7 in the shop when I got home, so it is slow and easy till about 9:30 to 10, and then time to quit alomst..... http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/trunkon.jpg A little Blinbage for the rear speakers. http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/rearbling.jpg

kj5ix Posted August 4, 2010 Author #42 Posted August 4, 2010 Thanks Mark; It is indeed YELLER. I finished it last night at midnight, with the exception of the wood grain trim stuff..., and little nicnac things I want to do. I will get some photos today in the day light so the true Yeller can be seen..... Not the Norm for a Yammer that is for sure. Good thing is that I get to ride it to Church tonight,, I may have to change the lesson for tonight,,,
kj5ix Posted August 4, 2010 Author #43 Posted August 4, 2010 This morning before RIDING it to work Finally http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/BigBird.jpg

kj5ix Posted August 5, 2010 Author #47 Posted August 5, 2010 OH it is Bright for sure,,, coming home the sun was to my back and I was squinting from the reflection,,, I still have the pin strip to order and put on, but did the dash wood grain appliqués ( mama's idea to get these, but not all that bad ) Now if I can get the speed sensor, and cruse working right and together I will be all set,,, Here are a couple more in the day light. Not too many this color around that is for sure... http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/bigbird1.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/dash.jpg http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/backend.jpg
jonesy Posted August 11, 2010 #48 Posted August 11, 2010 I like it, sure is nice. mine and yours together going down the road would cause a accident for sure.
BCLII Posted August 11, 2010 #49 Posted August 11, 2010 Where did the running boards come from, Hannigan also? Nice looking trike. Did you loose much power by adding the trike kit?
kj5ix Posted August 11, 2010 Author #50 Posted August 11, 2010 Where did the running boards come from, Hannigan also? Nice looking trike. Did you loose much power by adding the trike kit? Yes they are one of the options offered. I haven't noticed a tremendous loss in performance, some drop in gas mileage of course.
