utadventure Posted October 23, 2007 #1 Posted October 23, 2007 This one is too close to home and a good price not to look at it seriously. Given that it's sat for a while, what do you recommend having to do before trying to fire it up? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6718&viewitem=&item=120173317213&_trksid=p3907.m29 If anyone else here is already bidding on this, let me know - I won't fight you for it. Dave
mini-muffin Posted October 23, 2007 #2 Posted October 23, 2007 Pretty good price so far. If you do get it you'll want to check all the hoses and tires plus change out all the fluid. Might need some seafoam too. It would make a nice second bike. Good luck if you decide to get it. Margaret
DANJ Posted October 23, 2007 #3 Posted October 23, 2007 Good luck Dave, Looks perty good. Appears to be a standard. Don't see stereo, cb or Class. Great price if you can get it though. DJ
bongobobny Posted October 23, 2007 #4 Posted October 23, 2007 Drain the gas tank and if possible flush it before you even THINK of trying to start it. New plugs, fresh gas and some Seafoam in the tank along with an oil change should give you a pretty good chance of getting it running...
Guest maddabber Posted October 24, 2007 #5 Posted October 24, 2007 Looks like a Canadian bike seeing it is in Metric. You would never get a deal lke that up here unless you have a horseshoe somewhere.
KiteSquid Posted October 24, 2007 #6 Posted October 24, 2007 or at that price, it would be a great "hanger queen"
Yammer Dan Posted October 24, 2007 #7 Posted October 24, 2007 Would take a little TLC. The one I got was supposed to have sat for three years. I am going to have to pull the carbs if I ever get time. They are gummed up so bad Sea-Foam thru the fuel pump didn't touch them. Had to pry the slides out to clean them. I think it had sat longer than he claimed.
Freebird Posted October 24, 2007 #8 Posted October 24, 2007 Dan, Didn't you put new diaphragms in the black bike? Why don't you just use those carbs?
