Dmnordin Posted June 23, 2010 #1 Posted June 23, 2010 Does anyone know what chrome (plastic/ABS?) fender tips would fit my '83 Venture front fender? What more current bike model fender would be comparable in size, curvature, etc.? I need to cover up some paint damage near the tip from a recent paint exchange with a girl's car (I wished she would have looked, & I was more careful that time). Thanks, Doug
tpalshadow Posted June 23, 2010 #2 Posted June 23, 2010 How much does it need to cover? You could just use some of the chrome edging: http://www.jcwhitney.com/universal-chrome-edge-and-trim-molding/p2024253.jcwx?TID=8014524FT2&zmam=15972153&zmas=18&zmac=129&zmap=32975G
Dmnordin Posted June 23, 2010 Author #3 Posted June 23, 2010 The problem goes back an inch or two. I do have some side molding - I'll have to check it out. It might do the job. It's just that the cast tips tend to start out at $50, and most of them are over $100, and that's way too much for my budget. Doug
Condor Posted June 23, 2010 #4 Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) Any chrome MKII fender tip and medalion will work. They show up on Ebay occasionally. Edited June 23, 2010 by Condor
friesman Posted June 23, 2010 #5 Posted June 23, 2010 Any chrome MKII fender tip and medalion will work. They show up on Ebay occasionally. Thats exactly what I used to cover a scratch on the fender on my 85. Just got some good glue and stuck it on. Brian
Dmnordin Posted June 23, 2010 Author #6 Posted June 23, 2010 SkyDoc had an '87 Yamaha VR tip I bought. He's DaMan! Doug
6m459 Posted June 23, 2010 #7 Posted June 23, 2010 I bought one like that on Ebay a couple of years ago. I'm cheap so it was probably inexpensive. Stuck it on with an inch or two of particularly tenacious double sided tape I scrounged up from the graphics dept at work. Hope this helps. Brian H.
