SilvrT Posted June 22, 2010 #1 Posted June 22, 2010 Guys/gals ... I'm contemplating buying a Valk. The one I'm looking at is Red/Black, has 23,000 miles (yes miles as it was imported to Canada from the US 3 yrs ago), has new rubber, new battery, mustang seat with driver backrest, passenger floorboards, a few chrome goodies. Looks very clean from the pics and the price is $10,500 Canadian. Any feedback would be appreciated. What mechanical things should I be concerned about with these bikes? (could I join the Wing section then? ) EDIT: Guess I'd better learn to spell Valkyrie properly eh? LOL

SilvrT Posted June 22, 2010 Author #3 Posted June 22, 2010 Click HERE to read a GREAT article titled Touring Motorcycle Comparison: Harley Electra Glide, Honda Interstate, Yamaha Venture to Alaska I want a Valkyrie Interstate too...... Thanks M8 ... read that one a while back. Good article. I Googled Valkyrie and found an article comparison 1999 RSV vs 1999 Valk Interstate. Was very interesting; however, there was more writeup on the RSV yet the Valk had the edge overall. I'll be going out to see this Valk on the weekend. Depending on how it checks out and if the guy will let me test drive it, my '06 may come available.

wngrr Posted June 22, 2010 #5 Posted June 22, 2010 I bought a 1999 Valk Inerstate in 2000 and had no compaints. With the addition of a few items it served me very well on several long trips (all over 4000 miles) with zero problems while I owned it.. The engine is a solid lifter version of the 1500 goldwing motor and is very powerful! If I had to complain about something it would be the seat. I found it to be hard and I never did get used to it. I added a butt buffer pad and was good to go. Over all my years of riding I actually did my longest day in the Saddle on this bike in 2001. Rode from Asheville NC to Southern Ok in one day, 1036 miles pulling a trailer. I added the audiovox CCS-100 electronic cruise, highway pegs, tulsa windshield and a cb/intercom system and was good to go.. I would recommend this bike to anyone considering buying one.. David
