As I'm going through the process of fixing the second gear -yeah I'm taking my time in between all those other demands. I have my engine upside down working my way in getting the oil pump, oil gallery pipes off and I notice this piece sitting on the pistons - see highlighted in first picture. I've taken a few pictures of it but I'm not sure what it is or where it goes at this stage.

Can anyone give me some pointers?

Thanks in advance.

This could be the "round" Part of #37 in the Fiche ..

I'm not excatly sure if that's the Part which comes togehter with the Oil Level Sensor, but if it's not, there migth be a Cup around the Sensor which look pretty similar too.

I have the two parts here that squeeze mentioned.

It doesn't look like the pickup shield that is bolted to the oil pan at all.

The oil level sensor is somewhat close, the one I have could not be it though, due to notching not present in yours & there should be an o-ring groove present also.

I looked at my spare oil pump and it's not from there.

Went through a bunch of spare engine parts left over from parts bike & my 83 1200 and I can't match it up.

No, it is not enough.

For the next week you have to only drink American Beer.

Not that warm German stuff.

Sorry, but that ain't no Sentence which would make feel hurt. I don't drink too much Beer during the Week and seldom on Weekends. But i'm all in for Beer on a Meeting. :D :D :D a Lot :D :D :D

But if you feel so anyway, i'll try and get some Michelob and drink that instead of a Glass Jack Daniels/Coke :D :D :D

Almost looks like an oil sleeve (kinda like a crank seal repair kit) but I don't recognize it from having my bike apart. Might have been left over from the build process! Can't imagine how it was in there loose with no engine damage!

Just wondering if it came from the little rubber plug that goes between the oil gallery pipe and the oil pan? Doesn't look very big at all.
