tsigwing Posted June 17, 2010 #1 Posted June 17, 2010 Here are a couple of pics from last weekend's ROT rally. Going to the Rally had everything loaded up. The two tubs on top contain the a/c unit and cloths. Yes my wife packs light. Also had the cooler full of beverages and ice. Yes it was heavy. Didn't have any problems pulling it, left the bike in 4th and set the cruise at an indicated 65-70. Got between 30-35 mpg's. Coming home I let my FIL carry all of the gear, and the cooler was empty. That was an easy pull. 5th gear and cruise on 75, no problems. Getting 35-40 mpgs. Actually got cold at night with the a/c unit, had to turn it down and borrow a blanket. The air mattress works ok, but not used to such a small bed, and every movement gets transmitted to your partner. May have to look for a memory foam instead, but not looking for more bulk to haul.
SteveP Posted June 17, 2010 #3 Posted June 17, 2010 I like the aerodynamic shield in front of the cooler. Is that part of the trailer or something you added? I would like to get one for my trailer.
tsigwing Posted June 17, 2010 Author #4 Posted June 17, 2010 Cool Can you give more info on the AC unit??? The camper has a cut out on the side with elastic, it is built for a window unit. Since I bought mine used, I had to make a stand out of pvc. Why pvc? It is cheap and light and has so far worked great. The window unit is a standard 5000 BTU unit. I went with the lightest one I could find, but they are all similar.
